For Freedom of Movement & Fair Development!

Newsletter Nr. 7 (September 2013)

I. Preliminary remark:

Almost a year has gone by since our last newsletter was sent. The reason for this is by no means that we have had nothing to report. Not at all. The reason is rather, that in the light of our many activities we have been simply lacking the resources for putting together a periodic newsletter. It is against this background that we have decided in our last meeting of the European section of Afrique-Europe-Interact that in the future we want to put together a public newsletter every 4 to 6 weeks – each with a strong reference to our website, where most activities, assemblies, statements, publications etc. are documented anyway.

Newsletter Nr. 6 (October 2012)

Unfortunately this newsletter is only available in german. We are quite sorry for this! The next newsletter will be available again in all three languages.

Newsletter Nr. 5 (February 2012)

From the 20th of February to the 18th of March a delegation of seven members from the European section of Afrique-Europe-Interact will travel to Mali and Togo (whereupon not all activists will go everywhere). Ous plans in detail:

a) The center of the tour will be a 6-day-trip to the Office du Niger – the area in Mali in which huge land areas have been sold to globally operating banks, investment fonds and business companies for years. It is the purpose – together with the persons concerned and peasant organisatzion – to look for possibilities of common transnational actions against landgrabbing. 20 – 30 activists from the Malian section of Afrique-Europe-Interact will also participate in the trip. On our website you can find detailed information about landgrabbing:

Newsletter Nr. 4 (August 2011)

This newsletter is available in German, English and French. It informs about the activities of the transnational network Afrique-Europe Interact. Afrique-Europe Interact is a network of grassroots activists from Mali, Burkina Faso, Germany, Austria and the Netherlands. More information about the aims and members of our network can be found on our website in three languages:

Newsletter Nr. 3 (January 2011)

This newsletter is in German, English and French. It contains the most important informations about the Bamako-Dakar caravan for freedom of movement and fair development. Contact details and further information can be found at our web page:

Newsletter Nr. 2 (November 2010)

Our first newsletter was send in july 2010. Since then a lot has happened – especially what the preparation of the Bamako-Dakar-Caravan is concerned. In this context the annual meeting of the AME (Association of the deported people of Mali) on the 23/24 of october in Bamako/Mali has played an important role; also a small delegation of the european 'section' of our network has participated in this meeting. Therefore the newsletter consists of two parts: While in the first part there will be current information about the network and the Bamako-Dakar-Caravan the second part holds a short report of the journy of our delegation to Mali.

Newsletter Nr. 1 (July 2010)

Several groups and networks from Africa and Europe have started to get involved in the preparation of a 2-3 weeks Action-Tour from Bamako to Dakar in January/February 2011 – including participation at the next meeting of the „World Charter of Migrants“ on the Island of Gorée/Dakar (2nd till 5th of February 2011) and the next „World Social Forum“ in Dakar (6th till 11th of February 2011).
