In June 2010 already, the “Malian Association of Deportees” (AME) invited the European part of Afrique-Europe-Interact to come and participate in their Annual General Meeting in Bamako on 23 & 24 October with a small delegation. This was suggested partly for general reasons, so as to deepen the cooperation within Afrique-Europe-Interact, and partly because the second big topic of this year's general assembly (besides a fundamental debate on “emigration and development”) was the preparation of the Bamako-Dakar caravan. Four people from Germany, two without and two with refugee background (Togo and Tunisia) came for a two-week visit. Together with our newsletter no. 2, the photo gallery is meant to convey some impressions: of the annual meeting of the AME, of the immediate surroundings of the AME office, and of the other meetings.
