Stop war on Migrants: Actions in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Morocco

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the shootings at swimming migrants in front of the spanish enclave Ceuta in Marocco the network Afrique-Europe-Interact is participating in commemoration actions in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Marokko.

February 5:

  • Arrival of delegations from 9 EU countries and Tunisia.
  • Video screening
  • Information and discussion about the proposed agenda of the meeting.

February 6:

  • 10am Press Conference
  • 11am Demonstration STOP THE EU WAR ON MIGRANTION from the Spanish Embassy to the Maroccan Embassy, to the Bundesrat, finishing at the Auswärtiges Amt (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
  • 7pm Event / Discussion. With friends of those murdered during the massacre. Presentation of images and videos of our brothers, followed by an open discussion.

February 7:

  • 10am – 2pm / 4pm – 6pm Workshops: EU war diplomacy (International agreements: Dublin 3, bilateral agreements relating to deportation, the militarization of the border, the humanitarian rhetoric of the EU, ‘Sea rescue operations’, visa policy, and legal action against the EU); Internal strategies of persecution (the different immigration laws in the EU, structural discrimination for the exploitation of illegalized migrants’ labor, institutional strategies for deprivation of rights: the Duldung in Germany, homelessness in Italy. Lampedusa in Hamburg, Lampedusa in Berlin); Transnational actions and campaigns (Caravan of Sans-Papiers and Migrants 2015 Bamako – Tunis).
  • 7pm African music and culture.

8th February:

  • 10am General Assembly of the CISPM
  • Discussion about new meetings and shared campaigns.
  • 3pm Departure of the delegations.

PROGRAM DÜSSELDORF:

6th of february: 11 a.m.: gathering at the Burgplatz in Düsseldorf; than demonstration to the consulates of Marokko and Spain; 4 p.m.: reports from survivors and other migrants involved in the shootings at the 6th of february 2014 (STAY ! big hall Hüttenstraße 150)

PROGRAM TANGER and CEUTA (Marocco)

06th of february in Tanger: 10 a.m.: Demonstration to the spanish consulate; 3 p.m.: press conference with photo exhibition on police brutality; 6 p.m.: church service in commemoration of the victions of Ceuta

07th of february in Ceuta: demonstration of spanish activists in Ceuta to the beach and the border fence, than crossing the border to Marocco and meeting the demonstrators from Marocco
